This is a really cool site that I could spend hours browsing through, just playing with different reactions. It's not a full-on actual lab system, but it allows you to choose different mixtures, and there are videos to show what happens in the different reactions.
I think I'm just hitting burnout a bit, even though I just had spring break. I've got an extracurricular going 8 hours a week and 2 classes, so I've not been putting 100% into anything recently. I think as I work on ensuring that I grow in my teaching, my day to day activities will have to include a lot of different approaches, and I really like the speed and convenience of this material for demos and instructional work. It will definitely take a lot more development than I'd ever imagined to create student assignments to take advantage of this technology.

Matt,
Your exploration of virtual labs is really exciting to me. I really do need to incorporate more virtual labs into my curriculum. We are a new school and the science department has not been set up yet. Most of our materials are still in boxes. Most of what has been unboxed has been done by me.
Here are some sites for VL:

First, the website is very neat. Second, I can relate to the feeling of burn out. We went through the whole FCAT routine, I finishing my master's degree this semester, I am doing my final practicum for reading endorsement, and my school just completed its SACS accreditation review. I haven't had time to hardly to anything close to 100%. We just have to hang in there, and do everything the best we can. Third, I found that it often takes more time and energy to integrate technology and multimedia into instruction. Most teachers would avoid using your noted website for the sole reason that it may involve more work. As we often have limited time and resources, good teachers must evaluate the time and energy an instructional tool demands with its educational benefit.
